Pay Per View Productions: Fight Night

Mayweather V. Pacquaio.

Five years in the making and finally May 2, 2015 the fight was scheduled. Now I don’t know about you guys but I was definitely waiting for this fight to finally happen. I didn’t expect a K.O. but I did expect it to be a more intense fight. The amount of money that was spent on making the fight happen was astronomical then the payments to pay the individual fighters were out of this world. Now I don’t know how you all feel about what you saw but from my seat it looked like that right there was one epic play. They both looked like they had agreed to make as much money off the fight and go all 12 rounds sparring with one another. Pacquiao wasn’t as fast as he used to be, Mayweather was coasting through to the end and no one displayed the drive to win via knock out. I will say if you have seen Mayweather fight before he usually does coast for about 10 rounds before he will turn it up a bit because for the most part he is a defensive fighter. That is unless he gets angry like when Ortiz tried to head butt him and got knocked out by Mayweather in round 4. These guys aren’t stupid. They are literally getting millions of dollars every minute they fight in the ring. So the longer the fight, the more money they received. No one wants to pay to order the PPV fight that’s only going to be 2 rounds long but on the flip side I would at least like to watch a good fight! Save the farce for the theater and let’s see the art of boxing at its best. In my opinion, the so called “Fight of the Century” was a flop and I'd rather rewatch the Mayweather V. Mosley fight or the Pacquaio V. Marquez, any of them. It’s really a shame how the greed of money is spreading into sports, i.e. people trying to sabotage the Superbowl and fighters just trying to coast for 12 rounds. Mayweather stated after the fight that he would box his last match in September. Hopefully this will not be a “waste of time and money”.
