Transgender Bruce Jenner

   

It has recently become news that one of the only male faces of the Kardashian clan has been suffering a secret identity crisis in silence. Tonight in an interview with Diane Sawyer Bruce Jenner finally broke his muteness about his sexual identity crisis, he plans on becoming a woman. That's right folks Bruce Jenner is a transgender which just so happens to rhyme with his name. (Thank goodness no one found out when he was in school because that is too easy). All jokes aside it was a brave decision for the famous Olympian to come out and his highly public personal life invites some insight into the complexity of human nature and sexuality.

  

Finding that the rumors first reported in gossip magazines were true was quite enlightening to me. I am by no means closed minded but having never known a transgendered person intimately I had only preconceived notions and stereotypes to go on and these of course do not paint the picture of an entire person. To be perfectly honest I’d never actually thought about what goes on inside the mind of a man who identified as a woman on the inside but if I had I certainly would not have pictured an athlete who concurred in his field and was also the father of six biologically and four by marriage.

    Watching the Diane Sawyer interview Bruce’s son and reality star Brody Jenner spoke volumes when he said “It all finally made sense.” Of course the world could not have known the strapping Olympian athlete secretly donned dresses and considered himself a women in the dark recesses of his mind but with the truth out I can’t help but notice there may have been a few clues. The most glaring being that his longest marriage was to the feral she beast Kris Jenner.

   Kris and her band of girls weld their sex like swards in their efforts to forge an empire. I’m not an avid viewer of ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ but from the few times I’ve tuned in it was easy to see that the chicks held all chips. To put it in perspective it was Kim’s sultry good looks and body built for sin being put on full display in an adult film that launched their empire. And prior to that Kris was a professional wife to two high profile men even using her deceased husband's name instead of her current husband's name to brand their empire. She is a classic model of female power from a time when women of a certain class were not permitted to be the lone face of a business empire. In times of old  a smart widow could turn a deceased husbands' name into a powerhouse all her own. The Kardashian brand is built upon female sexuality and those girls exploit every aspect of their feminine charms to cash in including new wife and mother Kim posing completely nude(As we hadn't seen it before)

The only other male in the clan does not seem to be faring well amidst this female sex driven engine and his weight gain points to depression. And in the midst of it all the patriarch of the clan had secret desires to be one of the girls. It begs the question, what else goes on behind the closed doors of other legacies. My mother was prone to say that there is nothing new under the sun so men who dressed as date back farther than recorded history but it was always kept hush, hush. Kris comes off as more than emasculating so I’ll be the first to say that she was likely fully aware of this secret and maybe even literally played a man behind closed doors and between the sheets. Perhaps to hold on to the marriage or maybe to get her own rocks off. To each his own.

   Now that folks are talking I’ll throw my lil two cents in. Some may say that this man has devastated his family for his own selfish desires and his children will never recover from the ridicule. But let’s be honest there are as many ways to sin as there are stars in the sky and only one whose soul is a star less night may cast stones. As far as the destruction of his family divorce brings pain to all involved, man, women and child no matter the circumstances. So his children would have been equally crushed had he left for another women, man, was abusive or just abandoned them.

   He did none of these things. He was a responsible provider and father and a dedicated husband for twenty years. I can’t pretend to understand what motivates this sort of a decision in a person but we all fall short of a person and I personally celebrate my flaws because they inspired my greatest attribute and that’s my writing. I was weird introverted kid that was more comfortable in Lala land than talking to real people and now I spawn realities my mind and create three dimensional characters on a whim. Perhaps it was some convoluted quest in his mind to reaffirm his manhood that drove Jenner to his success as an athlete and his dedication as a father. With all he accomplished while hiding from himself there’s no telling what he’ll do now that he’s free.

  I am personally rooting for you Bruce and I hope you seek to tackle this new challenge with the same ferocity you did you Olympic triumphs.
