A Prayer for Peace in Bmore
Lord God, Mighty God hear us as we pray. Let it matter not a thing so small as what we call your name. In different tongues our needs are still one and and the same, peace
Too long I've fought my brother over small and triflings things. Your wrath did not deture us so you took upon our pain.
There are people suffering so they've taken to the streets in violent hordes. The spirit of unrest runs rampid through streets destroying hard fought livelihoods and torchings dreams.

In this picture a small boy offers life to one others would have him call his enemy. Lord you would call this the wisdom of a child and much like your word this picture is largely symbolic. This brown skin boy offers an essential human need, water on a hot day.
It's speaks to the glaring truth that we are all your children and have the same desires. We all want to feel safe, loved, and free to be the magnificent engine you created in your own devine image. For we are all but fruits on the vine born of your seed. We may only flourish and become the mighty tree if we do so together. If anything must be pruned it is the rotten hate instead of the fresh life.
The enemy attacks the weak. Whether they're the poor with nothing and have decided to take the comforts the world flaunts and has denied them by rioting. Or th the crooked cops who take pleasure in welding power instead of service and protection. We are all lost and I pray the madness ends. This country was built on the promise of equality not the exploitation of good intentions.
We are better than this dear lord. You believed in us so much that you layed down your life for us. And not for some mystical hocus pocus. You were trying to teach how to treat each other, how to love one another. For it is the only way the world will be a better place. Purge the hate from our hearts lord and replace it with understanding across all color lines.
There were slaves that fought for this country only to be put back in chains and there were white men who risked theirs lives, wifes, and kids in an effort to free slaves. Let us have the wisdom to address the real issues of poverty, abuse of power, substance abuse and the millions it pumps into the economy while politicians look the other way, and above all that self destructive hate instead of pointing the finger at one another...In Jesus name Amen.
