Best Concert Ever: Singing in the Rain: Chris Brown
I had the pleasure of seeing Chris Brown in concert at the
360 Amphitheater in Austin and it was one of the best concerts ever. We were
worried the weather was going to keep us all from seeing the show and during
Kid Ink’s performance the lightning caused a delay in the concert so we all had
to take shelter. It was a weird awkward situation that felt like the terminal
of a bus/train station. We were all here at this one point in time with only
one thing in common, we were here to watch a concert. So they piled us all
randomly into a building on the site where we could take shelter until it was
safe to resume the concert. When we were allowed back into the amphitheater,
the rain began to fall gently, very unlike Texas rains and the show went on.
We watched Chris Brown on a wet stage, still dancing and
singing his heart out while we getting drenched. Regardless of the rain he put
on such an amazing performance! I actually felt like the rain made it better
because the magical moment became one of those great movie moments where it
starts to rain to enhance the drama. I was emotionally moved. It brought a
feeling of nostalgia that took me back when I was a kid and I saw him for the
first time long ago just beginning his career with the voice of an angel and
the dance moves of a true performer. We knew then he would grow and be
something great. Which he has! His show was fun, energetic and full of life! We
were literally drenched in the rain and didn’t even care!
With that being said, the media has a way of turning the
social lives of celebrities and creating them to be monsters. When telling
others about me going to this concert I was met by some with, “You’re going to
see that guy that beat Rihanna?” or “Oh he’s out of jail?” Yes Chris has gone
through a lot of things in his personal life. None of which have anything to do
with any of us . . . For example, he’s currently in a long dramatic custody
battle for his daughter. So you can see the wear and tear on him and feel the strain
and exhaustion that he must be feeling, being on tour and what not. Yet you can
also see he is up there doing what he was meant to do, doing what he loves to
do, and doing it regardless of what’s going on in his personal life. At the end
of the day if we were all held so accountable for our own personal lives FOREVER,
I'm not sure how many of us would make it. So whatever opinions you have about
Chris as a person, know he is human, he does make mistakes and NONE of that
takes away from his talent as an artist.
Chris Brown is a great artist, he has been a great influence
to pop culture, and he is a phenomenal performer. Period.
Kudos on the great performance!
And Good Luck on the custody battle!
