The Meaning of the Grind
Good Morning Grind Nation,
Today I would like
to discuss what the grind means to me. It’s not about getting rich or flossing.
That was the old unevolved me. These days grinding means pulling myself out of
bed even when I’d like nothing more than to wallow in the sweet embrace of my cool
sheets on a hot summer day. Grinding means working that nine to five with
integrity to the best of my ability while still finding the time chase down my
dreams, tie em’ up and drag em’ home with me. Grinding is understanding that
anything worthwhile will not be easy but there is no greater high than the
chase. Victory is only sweet when it is
hard fought and hard won because grinders don’t want anything handed to them.
In the illustrious
words of that mental patient and fellow grinder in her own right, Miley Cyrus,
“It’s the climb.” Success does not make things easier. Quite the opposite. That
is why it is imperative that we never give up or give in. There is a reason
they say mo’ money mo’ problems. Because the stakes get so much higher the more
you achieve. But every bump, scrape, and bruise you gained along the way was
preparing you for the challenges you will face when you do make it. And trust
as long as you keep at it you will make it. So grinding means keeping that game
face on even when you have your own doubts. Grinding means not throwing in the
towel even when YOU majorly fucked up and are embarrassed to show you face. In
summation grinding means never giving up.
