H2Ocean

In Hawaii, by Haleiwa
I am a water person. Coincidentally, I'm also a water sign. I love the ocean, rivers and fresh flowing bodies of water. I had this love all my life even before growing up in the Pacific Northwest but being there, I was able to go to the waterfront often. Going down to the water makes me feel recharged, like a new surge of life’s energy is infused in my soul. It something that goes beyond just the view, it’s the entire atmosphere. When I look at the water I see the possibilities, the hope, the cycle of life and the ambience of nature. I don’t need to have a specific activity; I can just sit there for hours on the shore and soak up all the beauty. If I'm ever away from the water for a long period of time I feel lost, alone, confused, and unsure who I am as a person. I don’t know if maybe I was a pirate or something in another life, but I know that I feel a strong connection with the open waters. I imagine that this is what people who first began crossing the seas felt. As they looked out on to the horizon they didn’t see any barriers or boundaries. They saw a means of exploration, a connection to another place. Though we all feel distant and autonomous from each other at times, we are all connected and a part of something way bigger and meaningful that we should respect and acknowledge.
